Model: Credor 18k Moonphase GBLL998 Spring Drive

Year: January 2007

Features:

The Design. The 18k solid gold GBLL998 is the perfect embodiment of a Node watch. The astronomical term node - the point at which two orbits intersect - represents the collection’s design philosophy. Every Credor in the collection blends classic stylings with bold, unconventional elements, aiming to sit at the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary innovation.

The History. It’s hard to bridge the gap between Credor’s vintage and neo-vintage eras more seamlessly than this - a solid gold, modestly styled dress watch to which a Spring Drive, moonphase, power reserve indicator, and signature 24/7 motif have been added.

The Finish. As with most Credors, the devil is in the details. Whether it’s the immaculately flat-polished 24/7 markers, the concentric dial texture, or the hand-hammered golden moon, there’s always something to admire. And the appeal is only heightened by the fact that there are so few Spring Drive Moonphase watches in existence.

The Complication. Despite Grand Seiko’s broad catalogue, they’ve never been blessed with the Moonphase Spring Drive complication. In fact, it’s been almost 20 years since Seiko made a Spring Drive Moonphase movement of any kind. And as I’m typing this, I’ve just noticed a disturbing pattern - Seiko has only ever made one Automatic Moonphase movement in its entire history, way back in 1986. Seiko, why do you hate the Moonphase complication so much? It’s frustrating, because they've created some really interesting ones, like the GBLL998 on offer today.

Specifications:

The Movement. The GBLL998 houses Credor's 5R77 movement, which is one of very few Spring Drive Moonphases in existence. Accurate to +/- 15 seconds per month, and with a 72-hour power reserve.

Condition: In great condition overall. The solid gold case has picked up some small marks and hairlines, but there’s nothing of significance. No box or papers, and on an aftermarket strap in keeping with the original design. The gold clasp is the original.

Scope: No box or papers.

  • 4-12 business days to reach Asia and Oceania.

All of our packages are securely shipped, fully insured, and trackable door-to-door.

Do I have to pay customs or taxes?

It depends on so many factors, including but not limited to; the cost of the watch, the type of watch you've bought (vintage, new, or modified), and the import and tax laws of your country. If you're unsure we recommend checking the import laws that relate to your country before ordering.

Are your watches water resistant?

All of our watch mods are tested by our own pressure depth testing equipment, and are guaranteed to resistant water up to 50m of depth. Seiko Originals have varied levels of depth resistance, which will be stated in the description of each watch.

Can I modify an existing design?

We welcome all ideas! Get in touch via the Contact Us page and we can let you know the possibility and cost of any potential alterations.

What is your returns policy?

Due to the hand-made nature of the Seiko Mods, we offer a 7 day returns period after the watch has been received. The returner must bear the cost of the returns, and the watch must be returned in the same condition as it arrived. We do not offer returns on any bespoke or custom-made watches.

Due to the vintage nature of the Seiko Originals, returns are considered on a case-by-case basis, as vintage items typically have a no returns policy.
