Year Produced: May 1994

The History: A unique retirement gift from Kansai Power Company in Japan. Initially, I was puzzled as to why a company would present a His & Hers pair to a retiring employee - why not just give a singular watch? So I asked a Japanese friend to help explain the nuance. He told me that, in the '80s and '90s, it wasn’t uncommon for companies to give retirement gifts to both the employee and their spouse. The idea being that the spouse has patiently “shared” their partner with the company for all those years!

The Box and Papers: The original box. The Credor logo inside has been replaced with Kansai’s own, and it’s accompanied by small text in the corner that reads: “Retirement Commemoration from Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc.”

The Style: This 1994 Credor pair are vintage stainless steel, ultra-thin dress watches with applied baton indices and a contrasting XII at the 12 o'clock position. Measuring a little over 4.0mm thick and paired with an integrated woven mesh bracelet, this watch is designed to slip effortlessly under any cuff. It has the hallmark vintage Credor style of a perfect sunburst dial, and onyx crown.

The Condition: Both watches are in unworn, near-mint condition

Are your watches water resistant?

All of our watch mods are tested by our own pressure depth testing equipment, and are guaranteed to resistant water up to 50m of depth. Seiko Originals have varied levels of depth resistance, which will be stated in the description of each watch.

Can I modify an existing design?

We welcome all ideas! Get in touch via the Contact Us page and we can let you know the possibility and cost of any potential alterations.

What is your returns policy?

Due to the hand-made nature of the Seiko Mods, we offer a 7 day returns period after the watch has been received. The returner must bear the cost of the returns, and the watch must be returned in the same condition as it arrived. We do not offer returns on any bespoke or custom-made watches.

Due to the vintage nature of the Seiko Originals, returns are considered on a case-by-case basis, as vintage items typically have a no returns policy.
