The Theme. A reminder to make every second count. The average human heart beats up to three billion times before it eventually gives out, and this custom watch has been designed to make you consider the importance of every single one.
The Heart. It’s undeniably satisfying to watch the heart on the dial beat. Thanks to the skeletonised NH70 Seiko movement, the exhibition caseback, and the very literal open heart dial design, you can see all the way through the watch from the front.
The Case. The rounded octagon case - made famous by Gérald Genta’s Patek Philippe Nautilus case - takes inspiration from a ship’s porthole. It provides strong wrist presence without distracting from the glossy, Aegean-blue dial.
The Dial. The dial has been finished in a UV-resistant glaze to ensure no colour loss over the years, and its centrepiece is a beating heart plated in pure silver - a precious metal to represent life’s precious nature. And to keep the dial as clear as possible, the indices are marked in Kanji on the navy chapter ring.
The Hands. The watch takes its name - the EKG - from the electrocardiogram heartbeat that’s acting as the seconds hand, while the hour and minute hands remain traditional with their dauphine shape.
The Crystal. Flat sapphire crystal with a clear anti-reflective coating on the underside.
The Strap. Matte-black leather with a silver buckle.
The Movement. A regulated Seiko NH70 automatic skeletonised movement, accurate to +/- 5 seconds per day with a 42-hour power reserve
