Grand Seiko’s 9F86 Quartz doesn’t mess around when it comes to accurate timekeeping.

Model: SBGN013 Grand Seiko Heritage, 9F86-0AF0

Year: February 2020

Features:

The Movement. The 9F86 is accurate to +/- 10 seconds per year, thanks to its thermo-compensation. It checks the ambient temperature around the watch 540 times per day to ensure the movement can adjust and regulate itself.

The Seal. Upon opening the case back you might notice the movement itself is sealed away, safe from prying eyes (and fingers), leaving only the battery easily accessible. Not only does this drastically reduce the chance of your watch being damaged during a battery change, but it also means the lubricants in your watch movement are less likely to dry out as they are inside Grand Seiko's "Super Sealed Cabin". This should elongate the time between services.

The Perfect Tick. Seiko set out to solve a problem that very few people even know exists; the backlash that happens after every tick of a quartz watch. A quartz second hand jerks forward so suddenly and violently that its momentum carries forward even after the second hand reaches its destination, resulting in a little wobble. Thanks to the Grand Seiko's "Backlash Auto-Adjust" mechanism found in the SBGN013, the wobble is a thing of the past and now all you're left with is the "perfect tick".

The GMT. Unlike most GMT complications, the second hand doesn't stop ticking when you adjust the GMT hand. As seconds are universal and not affected by time zones, why hamper this watch's incredible accuracy whenever you want to adjust your GMT hand?

The Finish. Zaratsu polishing everywhere. It's a Grand Seiko, so of course everything will be mirror finished to perfection.

Condition: In very good condition overall. It's a hyper-polished watch, so there are hairlines on the bezel and case, but nothing concerning or deep. The dial, hands, and crystal are all in great condition.

Scope: Original box and papers.

Do I have to pay customs or taxes?

It depends on so many factors, including but not limited to; the cost of the watch, the type of watch you've bought (vintage, new, or modified), and the import and tax laws of your country. If you're unsure we recommend checking the import laws that relate to your country before ordering.

Are your watches water resistant?

All of our watch mods are tested by our own pressure depth testing equipment, and are guaranteed to resistant water up to 50m of depth. Seiko Originals have varied levels of depth resistance, which will be stated in the description of each watch.

Can I modify an existing design?

We welcome all ideas! Get in touch via the Contact Us page and we can let you know the possibility and cost of any potential alterations.

What is your returns policy?

Due to the hand-made nature of the Seiko Mods, we offer a 7 day returns period after the watch has been received. The returner must bear the cost of the returns, and the watch must be returned in the same condition as it arrived. We do not offer returns on any bespoke or custom-made watches.

Due to the vintage nature of the Seiko Originals, returns are considered on a case-by-case basis, as vintage items typically have a no returns policy.
