Features:

The Ocassion. At the age of 80, Yūichirō Miura set the record for being the oldest person to successfully summit Mt. Everest - a record that still stands to this day. To honour this impressive feat, Seiko created the SBDB007 Landmaster. There are plenty of small details that capture the spirit of the occasion: the crown is engraved with a rising sun cresting over a mountain peak, symbolising Japan’s conquest of Everest, the additional strap is a reinforced nylon band, ideal for slipping over the cuff of your Gore-Tex outer layer, and don’t forget the engravable Personal Data caseback - useful if you’re ever found unconscious and require emergency assistance.

The Message. As a final touch, the box contains a thoughtful message from the man himself: "Towards the high and distant summit of dreams, continuing to mark the passage of time."

The Personal Touch. You might have already noticed the casing has worn away where Miura Everest 2013 is engraved. Inspired by Miura’s triumph, the previous owner wore this watch everyday for many years. And whenever he felt anxious or uncertain, he would rub the Miura engraving - a tactile reminder that even the seemingly insurmountable can be overcome. Judging by the wear, he had plenty to worry about - but he was quick to clarify that it brought him great fortune over the years. While I can’t promise the next owner good fortune. But I do hope it brings you the same quiet reassurance it once gave him.

The Build. A rough and ready GMT Spring Drive. Released in 2013, the Landmaster was built for adventure. The SBDB007 is housed in a solid titanium case, coated with black PVD. Notice the crown at the 12 o’clock position - strategically placed to protect it from impact as you take on the world.

The Movement. Powering this Landmaster is the 5R66 Spring Drive, the undecorated version of Seiko's 9R66 Spring Drive - because why go to the trouble of decorating a movement when you’re going to encase it in solid titanium? Accurate to +/- 15 seconds per month, and with a 70 power reserve, this movement was built for performance. It’s a “True” or “Traveller” GMT, and for the sake of night-time clarity, the GMT hand glows red instead of the lumibrite-green seen on the rest of the dial and hands.

FAQs

Are your watches authentic?

Everything we sell is 100% authentic.

All of our watches are inspected and verified for authenticity - both inside and out. We have over 15 years of sourcing and collecting rare watches in Japan, which is often considered to be one of the best markets for authentic and fully original vintage watches.

Do you ship globally?

We are based in Japan and regularly ship all over the world. We typically use FedEx and it takes:

  • 3-7 business days to reach North America
  • 3-7 business days to reach Europe
  • 3-7 business days to reach Asia and Oceania.

All of our packages are securely shipped, fully insured, and trackable door-to-door.

What condition are your watches?

Due to the vintage and neo-vintage nature of the watches we typically sell, the condition varies from watch to watch. However, our photos are high resolution and our descriptions are accurate. You can buy with confidence knowing there won't be any nasty surprises.

If the condition of a watch is ever misrepresented, we would offer a full refund.

Are all of your watches serviced?

Most but not all of our watches are serviced. The "Condition" section of each watch will confirm if the watch has been serviced.

All of our watches are tested by an independent watchmaker - if a service is needed, the watch will be serviced. If a service hasn't been conducted, it's because the watch itself is too new to need a service, or there is evidence of a recent service.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept payment by all major Credit Cards and Wise.com

Do I have to pay customs or taxes?

It depends on so many factors, including but not limited to the cost of the watch, the type of watch you've bought (vintage or new), and the import laws of your country. If you're unsure we recommend checking the import laws that relate to your country before ordering.

Are your watches water resistant?

Our serviced watches are typically tested to their original water resistant specifications, but we would never recommend pushing vintage or neo-vintage watches to their depth limits.

What is your returns policy?

Due to the vintage and neo-vintage nature of most of our watches, we do not offer returns under normal circumstances. All sales should be considered final.
