Features:

The Design. It’s not going to win any prizes for subtlety. An uncommon blend of copper tones and black is merely the starting point for the visual oddity that is the 7L22-0BA0. Produced in 2012 and limited to 750 pieces, it was, unsurprisingly, only released in Japan. The 45-minute chronograph is activated by two of the meatiest pushers I’ve seen outside of some Seiko Galantes. They feel great though, so their formidable size simply becomes part of the watch’s charm. The rotating coin-edge bezel functions as a slide rule.

Limited Edition. Limited to 750 pieces in 2012.

The Movement. You’ll be pleased to learn the movement is just as quirky. The 7L22 “Kinetic” movement is a hybrid between Quartz and Automatic. I won’t go into great detail as it’s been discussed many times before, but unlike a Quartz movement, a Kinetic movement has a capacitor instead of a battery. A Quartz battery merely discharges energy into the watch, but a Kinetic capacitor stores the energy generated by the kinetic movement of your wrist, just like an automatic, and feeds it back to the watch as needed. However, unlike an automatic that might have a two or three-day power reserve, the 7L22 movement can store up to five months of power reserve in its capacitor. To further distinguish itself from its electrical counterpart, the Kinetic capacitor only needs to be changed every 10-20 years, instead of every 1-2 years like a Quartz battery.

The Chronograph. A 45-minute timer, with a small seconds sub-dial and a central chrono-timer seconds hand.

Condition: In excellent condition and just serviced with a new capacitor installed (shouldn’t need changing for 10+ years). The only signs of wear are on the bezel. There are small markings around the edge of the bezel insert, but they’re visible in all of the photos. The dial and crystal are immaculate.

Scope: With the original full box, and papers.

      FAQs

      Do you ship globally?

Absolutely - our watches are regularly shipped all over the world. Shipping typically takes:

      • 4-9 business days to reach North America
      • 4-12 business days to reach Europe
      • 4-12 business days to reach Asia and Oceania.

All of our packages are securely shipped, fully insured, and trackable door-to-door.

Do I have to pay customs or taxes?

It depends on so many factors, including but not limited to; the cost of the watch, the type of watch you've bought (vintage, new, or modified), and the import and tax laws of your country. If you're unsure we recommend checking the import laws that relate to your country before ordering.

      Are your watches water resistant?

All of our watch mods are tested by our own pressure depth testing equipment, and are guaranteed to resistant water up to 50m of depth. Seiko Originals have varied levels of depth resistance, which will be stated in the description of each watch.

Can I modify an existing design?

We welcome all ideas! Get in touch via the Contact Us page and we can let you know the possibility and cost of any potential alterations.

      What is your returns policy?

Due to the hand-made nature of the Seiko Mods, we offer a 7 day returns period after the watch has been received. The returner must bear the cost of the returns, and the watch must be returned in the same condition as it arrived. We do not offer returns on any bespoke or custom-made watches.

Due to the vintage nature of the Seiko Originals, returns are considered on a case-by-case basis, as vintage items typically have a no returns policy.
